Course reflection

I began this course with very little knowledge about the topic of intellectual property, implementation, and commercialization. I did not think I would be able to participate in class discussions due to my lack of knowledge regarding the topics. However, I read and reflected on the readings assigned, watched videos and paid active attention in class so that I was able to share my thoughts, critiques and questions about the topics being discussed. I learned many new terms in this course such as "intellectual property”, “evergreening”, “value proposition”, “trade secret”, “product-market fit”, and many more, and was able to effectively use them in my assignments and presentations. We had a final presentation formatted like a 'Dragon's Den' where we presented in a group on a preassigned product, an E.coli rapid testing kit. Although the product was trade secret and there were no public information on it, we were able to use the knowledge and terms learned in the class to effectively answer questions.
